Meet Riona

I’m Riona, a self-taught oil painter working from my home studio in Manchester. I’m drawn to rain on windows, blurred headlights and the changing light over water. Photography and the rainy city around me inspire much of what I paint. I like taking an everyday scene and finding something in it that makes you stop and look a little longer. My paintings are often about memories, even when they aren’t of a particular place. I hope they remind you of somewhere you’ve been or a moment you’d almost forgotten.
